Our Story
Victorian Plumbing’s Story
Victorian Plumbing was founded in 2000 by Mark Radcliffe, who already had significant ecommerce experience and who identified an opportunity to disrupt the traditional bricks and mortar bathroom products market. In the mid-2000s, we launched our eponymous product range as the first in what has become an own brand portfolio of over 25 brands, which now includes Chatsworth and Arezzo, amongst others.
In 2004, we moved to our first head office in Formby, Merseyside, and in 2009 opened our only showroom to the public, located adjacent to the head office, which enabled us to showcase our products to customers and build trust with suppliers by putting their ranges on show. Our first warehouse in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, opened in 2013, allowing us to increase stock levels and giving us greater control of our supply chain and distribution.
With significant investment in our creative and brand-focused marketing strategy, including our first television advert in 2014, Victorian Plumbing then grew rapidly. As a result, we were nominated in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 of the fastest growing private companies in 2016 and passed one million unique customers in 2017.
In 2020 we opened our new headquarters in Skelmersdale and in 2021 we reached three million unique orders and were included in The Sunday Times Profit Track 100.
On 22 June 2021 Victorian Plumbing Group Limited was admitted to the AIM list of the London Stock Exchange.
In 2022, Victorian Plumbing became the UK’s largest bathroom retailer (via Mintel) and achieved over 175,000 Trustpilot Reviews.
